Our team evaluated potential cycle performance improvements at a coal-fired power plant through the assessment of condensate preheater and feedwater heater retrofit options. Using validated plant performance models, we analyzed the impact of each configuration on plant efficiency and fuel consumption, helping the client identify opportunities to improve plant performance and reduce operating costs.

Our team performed technical due diligence to support the acquisition of a coal-fired plant. Through on-site inspections and multidisciplinary reviews, we evaluated asset conditions, identified red flag findings, and provided risk mitigation recommendations to help our client make informed investment decisions.

Cold Reheat (CRH) Piping System

•    CRH structural analysis at normal operating conditions and
at high T & P events for compliance with ASME. 
•    Identified high level stress areas and provided recommendations.
•    Performed on-site NDE inspections

 

Our team evaluated the Cold Reheat (CRH) piping system through field walkdowns, Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE), and structural analysis under normal operating and high temperature and pressure conditions. We identified high-stress areas and potential failure points in HEP piping, verified compliance with ASME requirements, and provided recommendations to improve system reliability.

•    Review and prioritize the electrical maintenance scope for Balance of Plant (BOP) and 230 kV Substation. 
•    Prepare list of electrical spares for outage.

 

Our team supported outage preparation activities for a Hot Gas Path Inspection (HGPI) by reviewing and prioritizing electrical maintenance scope for the Balance of Plant and 230 kV Substation. We also developed recommended spare parts lists to improve outage readiness and execution.

•    Collaborated with the Owner's on-site team in the transition from plant start-up to takeover and full-term O&M. 
•    Supported Owner with initial O&M budget plan.

Our team supported the Owner during the transition from plant start-up to full-term operations and maintenance. By working closely with the on-site team, we facilitated a smooth handover process and assisted with the development of the initial O&M budget plan.
